Abstract

This research is motivated by the low understanding of the concept of the eye science lessons at SDN Jatiwangi 01 Kec. West Cikarang. This can be seen from the students still confused when asked to give examples of the material, students still find it difficult to classify/categorize things from the material, students are still unable to conclude the material, students are still having difficulty when asked to compare something from the material, and students are still lacking able to explain the material that has been studied. aim of this research is to improve the understanding of the concept through the method experiment in science class 4 SDN Jatiwangi 01 Kec. West Cikarang. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (PTK) by directly doing research. The research was carried out in two cycle, each cycle consists of planning, implementation of action, observation, and reflection. The subject of this research was conducted in grade 4 students at SDN Jatiwangi 01 district West Cikarang, which has a total of 41 students, consists of 22 male students and 15 female student. The data in this study were obtained using techniques collection of written test data in the form of descriptions and observations. Classical mastery this study, namely 80% of the number of students who achieved a KKM score of 75. From the results of research on students' understanding of science concepts, it can be seen that there was an increase. In cycle I obtained an overall average value of 63.56 with a percentage of 56.09% of students who have achieved classical mastery. In cycle II there was an increase by obtaining an overall average value of 80.92 with a percentage of 82.92% of students who have achieved completeness classic. This shows the experimental method is able to improve understanding of concepts in science lessons class 4 SDN Jatiwangi 01 Kec. Cikarang West.
