Abstract

Work engagement is a positive psychological state characterized by enthu-siasm, dedication, and involvement of individuals in their work.. This study aims to determine the effect of career adaptability on work engagement with job stress as a mediating variable among employees of X. This quantitative correlational study involved 172 employees using a non-probability sampling technique. The instru-ments used were the Career Adapt-Abilities Scale (CAAS) (α = 0.959), a job stress scale based on Robbins' aspects developed by the researcher (α = 0.986), and the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES) (α = 0.959). Data analysis was conduct-ed using Spearman correlation and PROCESS Macro Model 4 by Hayes. The re-sults showed a positive relationship between career adaptability and work engage-ment (r = 0.463; p < 0.05), however, job stress was not proven to mediate the rela-tionship (indirect effect = 0.041; 95% CI included zero). Keywords: career adaptability, job stress, work engagement
