Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of growth mindset and hope on grit among teachers at SMP Negeri 1 Jasinga. The research employed a quantitative approach using a correlational design. The participants consisted of 50 teachers selected through a population study sampling technique. The instruments used were the grit scale, growth mindset scale, and hope scale. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation and multiple linear regression. The results showed a moderately strong positive relationship between growth mindset and grit r = 0,48, p = 0,000 (p < 0,05). Hope and grit r > 0,572, p = 0,000 (p < 0,05). Furthermore, growth mindset and hope simultaneously showed a positive relationship with grit r > 0,639, p = 0,000 (p < 0,05), with an effective contribution of 40.9% in predicting grit. These findings indicate that beliefs about the malleability of abilities and the capacity to set and maintain goals play an important role in enhancing teachers’ perseverance and consistency of interest in achieving long-term professional goals.
