Abstract
In this era, fashion is not only a primary need but also a medium of communication that conveys one's identity, social and cultural surroundings. Even fashion can also be used as a form of one's self-concept. The existence of the Citayam Fashion Week phenomenon makes people start to recognize street fashion and build a person's identity and self-concept through their respective clothes. This research aims to find out the identity and self-concept displayed by street fashionistas in clothing. The theory used in this research is the self-concept theory proposed by Johari Window. This research uses descriptive qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. The results of the study show that the identity built by the informants is an identity as themselves without having a certain nickname. In addition, the self-concept model found in this study is blind, because the informants did not realize any changes to themselves after using street fashion.
