Abstract

Improving Learning Outcomes for the Volleyball Smash Technique Through Learning Modifications for Grade VIII Students at SMP Negeri 143 North Jakarta. Undergraduate Thesis. Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. Universitas Islam 45. The objective of this research is to determine whether learning outcomes for the volleyball smash can be improved through learning modifications for Grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 143 North Jakarta. The method used in this study was Classroom Action Research (CAR), while the subjects of the study were 34 students from class VIII.A of SMP Negeri 143 North Jakarta. The results of this study indicate an improvement in learning outcomes for the volleyball smash through the modification of learning equipment. This was evidenced in the initial test or pre-cycle, where 38.24% of students achieved the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) score for the smash lesson, falling into the "very good" and "good" categories, while 61.76% of students who had not yet achieved the KKM score fell into the "fair," "poor," and "very poor" categories. In Cycle I, 58.82% of students achieved the KKM score, falling into the "very good" and "good" categories, while 41.12% of students who had not yet achieved the KKM score fell into the "fair" and "poor" categories. In Cycle II, 82.35% of students achieved the KKM score, falling into the "very good" and "good" categories, while 17.65% of students who had not yet achieved the KKM score fell into the "fair" category. Throughout the implementation of the classroom action research in class VIII.A at SMP Negeri 143 North Jakarta, every cycle experienced improvement in all aspects. Simultaneously, it showed that learning the volleyball smash by modifying equipment was enjoyed by the majority of students. Thus, learning the volleyball smash through this approach is suitable for the characteristics of Junior High School students. Furthermore, based on the results of this study, learning through equipment modification can improve learning outcomes for the volleyball smash for students of class VIII.A at SMP Negeri 143 North Jakarta.
