Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the description of the influence between authoritarian parenting patterns and self-confidence on verbal bullying behavior. This study was conducted at SMKN 2 Bekasi City. The design of this study used a quantitative method, with 179 class XII students as research subjects. The sampling technique in this study used simple random sampling. Data collection methods were carried out through interviews and psychological scales. The measurement instrument used an authoritarian parenting scale using the Parenting Practices Questionnaire Constructs (PPQC) with a reliability of 0.949, a self-confidence scale made by the researcher himself with a reliability of 0.923, a verbal bullying scale using the Olweus Bully/Victim Questionnaire (OBVQ) with a reliability value of 0.825. The results of this study show that there is a significant influence between authoritarian parenting patterns and verbal bullying (r = 0.580, ρ = 0.000, 2-tailed), there is a significant influence between self-confidence and verbal bullying (r = -0.164, ρ = 0.028, 2-tailed) and through multiple regression analysis techniques the results were obtained (Sig. F = 0.000, R Square 0.690) which means that authoritarian parenting patterns and self-confidence can contribute to verbal bullying by 69%.
