Abstract
This research discusses ten caricatures about the 2024 presidential election on the Instagram account @komikkitaig from October 2023 to February 2024. The focus of this research is the meaning of images in caricatures using Barthes’ semiotic analysis which focuses on denotation, connotation and myth included in the research qualitative descriptive. The aim of this research is to describe how caricatures are used to criticize the circumstances of the presidential election or the themes raised. As a result of this research, the denotational meaning includes texts and pictures of the 2024 presidential candidate. The connotation in the caricature of presidential candidate pair number 1 (Anies-Muhaimin) means conflict, agreement and formal. In the caricature of presidential candidate pair number 2 (Prabowo-Gibran) the inferred meaning is relaxed, sarcastic and a lot of talk. In the caricature of presodential candidate pair number 3 (Ganjar-Mahfud) the meaning concluded is solidarity, harmony and professionalism. The myths in the 2024 presidential election caricatures reflect the existence of political dynasties, elections influenced by certain political powers, identity politics, political money determining victory, and political solidarity.
