Abstract
This research is motivated by the problem of students' reading comprehension skills which are still low in class IV MI Subulussalam. Based on the results of observations prove that Indonesian language learning in reading comprehension skills of students is very low. The problem is: students have not been able to determine the main sentence or main idea in the reading that has been given by the teacher, students have also not been able to draw conclusions from the reading that has been given and students have not been able to determine statements that match the content of the reading. The purpose of this study was to improve students' reading comprehension skills in Indonesian language subjects, by using the Think Pair Share type cooperative learning model in class IV MI Subulussalam. The research method used was Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). This research was conducted in 2 cycles, with subjects totaling 24 students and each cycle consisting of 2 meetings. Data collection in this study used written test data collection techniques. The success criteria in this study are 100% with a KKM value of 75. The results showed an increase in reading comprehension skills of MI Subulussalam students. The improvement can be seen from the increase in the average score obtained by students by 11 from the average in cycle I with a score of 76 and the average in cycle II with a score of 87. Furthermore, the increase in the percentage of classical completeness by 37% from the percentage of completeness in cycle I 63% and cycle II 100%. Thus it can be concluded that the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model can improve the reading comprehension skills of grade IV students of MI Subulussalam. keywords : Reading Comprehension Skills, Think Pair Share (TPS) Model, Indonesian Language.
