Abstract

The problem that students often face in obtaining graduation is delays in the thesis preparation process. There are many factors that can hinder students in the thesis completion process, one of which is a low level of self-disclosure, there are still students who have difficulty expressing the obstacles they face during the thesis preparation process. The aim of this research is to find out the picture and see the effect of group counseling in increasing self-disclosure in final year students. The research method used in this research is Pre-experimental One Group Pretest Posttest Design. The research subjects used were 10 final year students of the Psychology study program at Islamic University 45 Bekasi without any comparison group. The sampling technique used in this research was purposive sampling. This research uses a training module and a self-disclosure scale with a Cornbach's Alpha reliability value of 0.743. The data analysis technique uses the paired sample t-test. The results of this research indicate that the research hypothesis is accepted. The results obtained from the paired sample t-test before and after being given group counseling obtained a value of p=0.000 (p<0.05), so it can be concluded that there was an increase in self disclosure between before and after being given group counseling treatment.
