Abstract

Thesis with the title "The Influence of Social Media Instagram Account @pinterpolitik on Political Participation of Generation Z" under the guidance of Mr. Yudha Asmara Dwi Aksa, M.I.Kom has number of roman pages (xii), pages (74), number of tables (44), number of images (10 ), and number of attachments (12). In 2023, political content is easily accessible on social media accounts, open access to social media is the main factor. @pinterpolitik has the potential to influence generation z in participating in politics. Political participation has various elements such as electoral participation, consumer participation, party activities, protest activities and contact activities. The formulation of the research problem is whether there is an influence of the social media account Instagram @pinterpolitik on the political participation of generation z. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the social media account Instagram @pinterpolitik on the political participation of generation z. This research uses a method with a descriptive approach. Variable X is social media accounts and variable Y is political participation of generation z. The results of this study note that social media accounts have a positive effect on political participation with a significance value of obtaining a Sig value. 0.000 < from the value (a) which is 0.05. The results of the (partial) T test, namely T_count of 5,221 > T_table of 0.1966. The results of the F (Simultaneous) test, namely the value of Sig. of 0.000. The significance of b/constant is getting Sig 0.000 < from the value (a) which is 0.05 meaning that Ha is accepted H0 is rejected. The indicators in social media accounts that most influence political participation are the user indicators, the value of T_count is 2.086 > T_table 0.1966, meaning that the user indicators in social media account variables most influence political participation. The Rsquare results obtained a value of 0.218, meaning that the influence of the social media account Instagram @pinterpolitik on generation z participation was 21.8% and the rest political participation was influenced by other variables not included in this study.
