Abstract
ABSTRACT Uswatun Rian Nurseha. 411822911160021. MENTAL HEALTH IN THE PERSPECTIVE OF ISLAMIC EDUCATION (A Review of Prof. Zakiyah Daradjat's Thought). Islamic Religious Education, Faculty of Islamic Religion, “45” Bekasi Islamic University, (1445/2023). (98 Pages + 16 Pages) Basically, in forming and developing children's morals, guidance and teachings are needed as well as the application of Islamic religious education, as a benchmark that parents want. This study aims to find out and describe how the concept of mental health according to Zakiyah Daradjat through Islamic education. The results of this study are expected to add insight into knowledge in the world of education regarding mental health in the perspective of Islamic education in forming and developing children's morals and can be used as a reference for improving the moral quality of students in accordance with Islamic ideals and values . This study uses a descriptive qualitative research method with a library research approach, which is a research conducted by searching for and discussing related literature or books. The data sources used were Zakiyah Daradjat's books as primary data sources and other books related to the object of research as secondary data sources. The data analysis technique used goes through three stages, namely organizing objective experiences, then identifying and studying the meaning of the story being told, and explaining the influence of ideology . The results of this study indicate that, according to Zakiah Daradjat, the concept of Islamic education in mental health is a change in attitude and behavior in accordance with Islamic teachings, aimed at improving mental attitudes that are manifested in actions, both for one's own needs (individuals), and others (society). ). Islamic education plays a role in controlling these morals and personalities. With Islamic guidance, students are assisted to improve their personality starting from the basic aspect, namely the condition of their soul. The concept is divided into two, namely: (1) theoretically (2) practically. The two theories include: (a) introduction, understanding, and urgency about individual mental health (b) methods of guidance that are carried out in real terms in the educational environment (family, school, community) by paying attention to the psychological development of students (c) instructions for handling in overcoming mental health problems, namely by worshiping and drawing closer to Allah Ta'ala.
