Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of adversity quotient with career adaptability, social support with career adaptability, and the influence of adversity quotient and social support on student career adaptability. This study used a correlational design. Subjects totaled 216 students of class XII IPA and IPS SMAN 4 Babelan. The sampling technique used simple random sampling. Data collection methods using interviews and psychological scales. The research instruments used were career adaptability scale, adversity quotient scale, and social support scale with Likert model. Instrument reliability test using Cronbach alpha formula with ralpha=0.965 for career adaptability, ralpha=0.846 for adversity quotient scale, and ralpha=0.810 for social support. Data analysis used spearman rank and multiple linear regression. The results of the spearman rank test between adversity quotient and career adaptability showed p=0.950 (p>0.05) which means there is no significant relationship. The results of the spearman rank test between social support and career adaptability show p=0.002 (p<0.05) which is a significant relationship. The results of multiple linear regression test between adversity quotient and social support with career adaptability showed sig. F=0.000 (p<0.05), obtained R square=0.115 which means there is a simultaneous influence between adversity quotient and social support on career adaptability. In addition, adversity quotient and social support also contribute 11.5% to career adaptability.
