Abstract

This research is motivated by the low student learning outcomes in elementary school mathematics in various regions in Indonesia which researchers have found from various journal articles. This is indicated by the number of students who have not reached the KKM that has been determined. The problem of low learning outcomes in mathematics is caused by students having difficulty understanding the material, the learning methods used by teachers are not suitable, students' interest in learning mathematics is low due to saturation that occurs during the learning process. One of the solutions to overcome the problems above is to apply the Make A Match learning model, because the Make A Match learning model is a fun model for students and involves students directly and increases the activity of students to move. This study aims to determine the application of the Make A Match learning model as an alternative in improving learning outcomes in mathematics in elementary schools. The research method used is a systematic review or Systematic Literature Review (SLR) by analyzing the results of previous research related to the use of the Make A Match learning model for learning outcomes in mathematics in elementary schools. The sample analysis in this study were 14 journal articles that had been published in the 2014-2022 range, which were reviewed from various aspects, namely: (1) based on the journal area, (2) based on research trend charts, (3) based on the research methodology used, namely 10 Classroom Action Research (PTK) journal articles, and 4 experimental research journal articles, (4) description of the application of the Make A Match learning model in both lower and upper classes, (5) reviewed based on aspects of learning outcomes indicators by analyzing student learning outcomes both in the lower class and in the upper class, and (6) in terms of the material aspect used. Based on the findings of the analysis, there are differences in the results in applying the Make A Match learning model, but overall this study shows the conclusion that the Make A Match learning model is suitable for use in the learning process, has a positive influence and can improve learning outcomes in mathematics for elementary school students.
