Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Muhadatsah method on the development of Arabic speaking skills in third grade students of the Islamic boarding school of Al-Hidayah Al-Mumtazah. The results of this study are expected to add insight in the world of education, about the influence of the Muhadatsah method on the development of Arabic speaking skills in Arabic learning and can be used as a race to improve the quality of learning, of course in terms of increasing student interest in learning. This research is a quantitative research with a Quasi Experimental Design research type. With a population of class III Muallimin Islamic Boarding School Al-Hidayah Al-Mumtazah students, the sample used was class III Muallimin A and III Muallimin B. The data collection technique used in this study was a test. The results showed that the Muhadatsah method which was applied to the experimental class could significantly affect student learning outcomes in Arabic learning. This can be seen from the average student learning outcomes taught by the Muhadatsah method. This is evident from the description of the pretest data, when the Muhadatsah method was not implemented in the experimental class the mean value for class III was 73.60 and control class III = 66.40, but after being given x posttest treatment, the experimental class reached x = 85.60 and the control class was 77.05. while the results of data analysis using the paired sample test, the results obtained are tcount > ttable (10.239 > 0.312), while Muhadharah method obtained tcount > ttable (7.374 > 0.312), then there is a difference in the average results of the pre-test and post-test experimental class and control class. Thus it can be said that there is a significant influence on learning using the Muhadatsah method on the development of Arabic speaking skills at the Al-Hidayah Al-Mumtazah Islamic Boarding School.
