Abstract

Narrative writing skills are very important for elementary school students to learn, because writing can train students' thinking power. This study aims to examine the use of learning media, namely animated film video media on narrative writing skills in Indonesian lessons. The problem that occurs is the low writing skill in Indonesia based on the results of the data obtained that there are no very skilled students in writing narrative essays, skilled students with a percentage of 7.9%, students who are quite skilled with a percentage of 31.58%, and students who are less skilled with a percentage of 60.52 %. The problem is due to the lack of teachers in training students and the absence of learning media used, students still do not master coherent sentences and do not understand punctuation marks. The research method used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR) from 10 journals originating from the Google Scholar database and crossref based on the years published 2012-2022. Initial knowledge in narrative writing skills is low for journal searches using electronic media such as cellphones and laptops. The results of the study using the CAR (Classroom Action Research) method using animated film video media showed that observations from cycle 1 got an average value of 69.8 and 75.79, because the results in cycle 1 had not reached the indicator of narrative writing skills, so it was done again observations in the second cycle that get an average value of 75.3 and 82.10. And the results of the study using the experimental method using the normality test showed (0.000 < 0.05). Thus, the use of animated film video media has a significant influence on students' narrative writing skills in elementary schools in Indonesian subjects. And it can be said that it is feasible to use animated film video media for narrative writing skills
