Abstract
This research was motivated by the low concept understanding of multiplication among second-grade students at SDN Bojong Rawalumbu VI, who tended to memorize multiplication results without understanding the underlying process of repeated addition and had difficulty representing it visually. Concept understanding in this research was measured through indicators of students' ability to restate, classify, give examples, present representations, and apply a mathematical concept. This research aimed to improve students' concept understanding of multiplication through the implementation of the VAK (Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic) learning model. This research used the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method based on the Mulyasa (2020) model, conducted in two cycles, each consisting of three meetings covering planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects were 26 second-grade students at SDN Bojong Rawalumbu VI, consisting of 13 boys and 13 girls. Data were collected through observation, written tests, interviews, and field notes. The research was considered successful if classical completeness reached 100% with a Learning Achievement Criteria (KKTP) score of ≥ 75. The results showed an improvement in mathematical concept understanding from Cycle I to Cycle II. The class average score increased from 74 (61% classical completeness) to 90 (100% classical completeness). Thus, the VAK learning model proved effective in improving mathematical concept understanding among second�grade students at SDN Bojong Rawalumbu VI, Bekasi City.
