Abstract

The development of the world of work in the current era of globalization and digitalization has brought significant changes to the employment system. Companies are encouraging many organizations to implement flexible work systems, such as short-term contracts, outsourcing, and layoffs. This study aims to determine the relationship between job insecurity and hardiness on employee psychological well-being. This study used a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of 77 employees in Gambir, Central Jakarta. The research instrument consisted of scales of job insecurity, hardiness, and psychological well-being. Data analysis was conducted using Spearman correlation tests and multiple linear regression. The results showed a significant negative relationship between job insecurity and psychological well-being, and a significant relationship between hardiness and psychological well-being. Both variables also simultaneously contributed to the level of psychological well-being in employees (R2 = 0.448; p < 0.05).
