Abstract

Academic stress is a condition where individuals experience academic demands, feel burdened by their academic conditions. This study aims to determine the relationship between perceived social support and student engagement to academic stress. The subjects of this study were 271 final year students. The perceived social support instrument used the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Support (MPSS) scale with a reliability of 0.85, student engagement used a scale compiled by the researcher with a reliability of 0.725, and academic stress used the Educational Stress Scale for Adolescents (ESSA) scale of 0.81 Spearman Rank test results r = -0.359, p = 0.000 there is a negative relationship between perceived social support and student engagement. Then r = -0.442, p = 0.000 there is a negative relationship between student engagement and academic stress.
