Abstract

Currently, there are many cases of bullying carried out by students in the school environment. Bullying that occurs in the school environment today is not a simple problem because one of the aspects that influences children's behaviour is the school environment, so it is important to develop character, especially in kindergarten age children with the aim of making children become individuals with good character in facing a higher level of education. This research aims to find out how teachers' verbal and nonverbal messages are used to develop children's character at TKIT Taman Al-Hikmah Bekasi. This research uses a qualitative case study method with data collection techniques, namely interviews, observation and documentation The results of the research show the teacher's efforts to develop children's character through verbal and nonverbal communication because there are elements that support the communication process. Oral verbal communication is shown in the form of speech, chants or songs, and non-verbal communication in writing uses media in the form of reading books, LKA. Nonverbal communication is shown through kinesics in the form of body movements and facial expressions of the teacher.
