Abstract

BRTV needs to face competition with various other television stations that are competing to present information programs in new formats and packaging to embrace the public. So that this competition also results in a decrease in viewers and impact on the reduction of the number of viewers. This study aims to find out how the strategy used by BRTV in an effort to improve the quality of evening news broadcast production. Researchers use the theory of broadcast production strategies from Fred Wibowo (2007). The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. The data in this study were obtained through observation, in -depth interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the BRTV strategy in an effort to improve the quality of production of evening news broadcasts is carried out in the production stage of the program starting from pre -production, production, and post -production. Another strategy is to maintain the accuracy of news, accelerate news screening, and always upgrade production facilities. Keywords: Evening News, BRTV, Broadcast Production Strategy
