Abstract

Students who are writing their thesis certainly have difficulty in working on their thesis, therefore students will academic help seeking. This study examines the relationship between academic self-efficacy and academic engagement with academic help seeking. The quantitative correlational and comparative design. The subjects of the were 271 students of Islamic University 45 Bekasi, with stratifed random sampling. The academic help seeking scale r alpha = 0.904, the academic self-efficacy scale r alpha = 0.927, the academic engagement scale r alpha = 0.884. The results of the first analysis, there is a relationship academic self-efficacy and academic help seeking (r = 0.462, p = 0.000). Second, there is a relationship academic engagement and academic help seeking (r = 0.438, p = 0.000). Third, there is an influence of academic self-efficacy and academic engagement on academic help seeking with a contribution of 35.2%, while 64.8% is influenced by other variables. Fourth, there are no gender differences in academic help seeking
