Abstract

TikTok is attractive to young people with adverse effects in the form of social comparisons that cause envy. This study aims to determine the relationship between life satisfaction and gratitude towards envy in TikTok user students. This study uses a correlational quantitative method. The subjects of this study were undergraduate students at Islamic University “45” Bekasi. The sampling technique used non-probability sampling type convenience sampling. with 370 subjects. with this research data collection method using psychological scales, namely life satisfaction, gratitude and envy scales. With a reliability value of 0.86 life satisfaction scale, 0.93 gratitude scale, 0.95 envy scale. There is a significant negative relationship between life satisfaction and gratitude with envy in TikTok user students. The correlation coefficient shows a value of -0.382 for life satisfaction and -0.623 for gratitude, both significant p values (p=0.000). Multiple linear regression test shows that life satisfaction and gratitude together affect the level of envy by 43%, while the rest is influenced by other variables.
