Abstract

ABSTRACT Name : Jian Alfian NPM : 41182109200006 Title : Efforts to Improve Narrative Essay Writing Skills with Using the Picture and Picture Model for Class V Students at SDN Margahayu 01 This research was motivated by the low level of narrative essay writing skills for class V at SDN Marghyu 01. This was seen as problems in Indonesian language learning, namely students had difficulty expressing ideas, determining titles, using diction, using spelling and punctuation, describing characters, describing the setting and plot of the story. The aim of this research is to improve narrative essay writing skills in Indonesian language learning using the picture and picture model for class V students at SDN Margahayu 01. The research method used is the classroom action research method (PTK). This research was carried out in two cycles. Each discussion includes planning, implementation, assessment and reflection stages. The subjects of this research were class V students at SDN Margahayu 01, totaling 25 students. Data collection techniques use performance tests and observation sheets. The classical indicator of success is at least 85% of the number of students who achieve a score of ≥ 75. The results of the research showed that there was an increase in students' narrative essay writing skills using the picture and picture model from each cycle, namely in cycle I classical completeness was 56% with an average value of 74 and in cycle II classical completeness increased to 96% with an average value 85, therefore there was an increase in narrative essay writing skills in cycle II by 40%. Therefore, the cycle was stopped because the results obtained by the students had reached the planned classical completeness, namely 85%, as well as the observation results of cycles I and cycle II had increased.
