Abstract

This research was motivated by the low speaking skills of class III students at SDN Bojong Rawa Lumbu X East Bekasi. This can be seen from the students' pronunciation of vowel and consonant sounds that are still not clear, the high/low pronunciation when students speak is not quite right, students are still stammering when speaking, and students are difficult to master the material presented, Classroom Action Research Method (CAR) applied in this study, using two cycles. In each cycle there are two meetings and carried out in four stages, namely planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. There were 26 students in the class studied, including 10 male students and 16 female students. Data collection techniques used in this study using performance tests and observations. The results of the study showed that the classical completeness class III at SDN Bojong Rawa Lumbu X increased from the pre-action cycle I to cycle II. Speaking skills acquired in the first cycle is 42% and in the second cycle is 88%. The impact of the hand puppet media is that teachers become more creative in using learning media and students become more interested in speaking, so that the learning objectives can be achieved as expected.
