Abstract
Scriptwriter is one of the most important parts in every media, including its role in a radio media, Radio Dakta 107 FM, one of which has a scriptwriting division which plays a very important role in the process of writing radio news. A scriptwriter not only plays a role in writing news scripts that will be read out during broadcasts, but scriptwriters also play a role in the process of writing radio news which will later be published on the Dakta 107 FM Radio Social Media account. This research succeeded in examining the role of a scriptwriter according to what was desired. This research succeeded in examining the role of scriptwriters in the production process of radio news, both broadcast and published on Dakta 107 FM Radio social media. By using the theory of radio news writing to analyze the role of scriptwriters in the production of program scripts on Dakta 107 FM Radio. This study used a descriptive qualitative method by approaching each division on Dakta 107 FM Radio. The role of the script writer in the production of each Dakta 107 FM Radio program is very influential for the smooth running of the broadcast process in every program on Dakta 107 FM Radio, not only the role of the writer, the script writer also plays a role, in the process of searching for news script material, up to the process Finally, publishing news scripts that have been completed in production. The scriptwriter also has a role in making a program schedule or event round-down to manage the smooth running of the broadcast process so as not to experience the same schedule in each program which causes the broadcast process to not run smoothly on the program
