Film is an example of a communication medium that has the greatest impact in telling various realities of life, one of which is by telling the realities of everyday life. Based on the description of the reality of life, films are divided into several groups such as film stories or concepts, news films, documentaries and cartoon or animation films. In its classification, animated films are defined as entertainment films with interesting, unique, expressive and imaginative film concepts but often also have a profound impact on the audience. This study presents the animated film Warkop DKI: The Series with an analysis of the meaning of slapstick comedy in it. The Warkop DKI film is a reality film that has been modified into an animated film with the concept of slapstick comedy (rough jokes). The focus of this study shows the figures of CHIIPS security officers, namely Dono, Kasino and Indro as the main actors who do a lot of slapstick comedy scenes (rough jokes) or become victims of them. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research method with Roland Barthes's semiotic analysis approach. This study uses several relevant theories, namely film theory, verbal and non-verbal communication, Roland Barthes semiotics, and slapstick comedy markers. The data collection technique used was documentation study and literature study. The results of this study indicate the discovery of 43 scenes of images, sounds and signs that produce the meaning of slapstick comedy scenes played by the main character, that this film not only displays entertainment and jokes but also shows scenes of violence that appear in each episode. The appearance of these violent scenes indicates that this film is quite rich in violent scenes. Keywords: Warkop DKI animated film, Slapstick Comedy, Roland Barthes semiotic analysis.
