Abstract

This study aims to determine the descriptive picture of neuroticism on self-regulated learning and the relationship of emotional intelligence to self-regulated learning, as well as the influence of neuroticism and emotional intelligence on self-regulated learning in high school students “X”. This research uses quantitative methods with research designs using correlational and regression research. The subjects in this study were grade 11 and 12 mipa students at SMA “X” which totaled 84 students consisting of 31 students in grade 11 mipa and 53 students in grade 12 mipa students. This study used the BFI scale (neuroticism only) with an Alpha Cronbach reliability value of 0.882 and an emotional intelligence scale with an Alpha Cronbach reliability value of 0.891 and a self-regulated learning scale with an Alpha Cronbach reliability value of 0.864. Data analysis techniques using Rank-Spearman correlation and regression This research found that there is no relationship between neuroticism and self-regulated learning and there is a relationship between emotional intelligence and self-regulated learning. Based on the results of a simple regression test, it is also known that there is an influence between emotional intelligence and self-regulated learning in “X” high school students. Emotional intelligence contributed to self-regulated learning by 58.1%.
