ABSTRACT Muhamad Naofal Alghifari. 41182911210059. “RELEVANCE OF QURAISH SHIHAB'S THOUGHT IN THE APPLICATION OF RELIGIOUS MODERATION EDUCATION” Thesis, Bekasi: Department of Islamic Education, Islamic University “45” Bekasi 2025. This study aims to examine how the relevance of Quraish Shihab's thoughts in the context of implementing religious moderation education. The focus of the problems discussed include: how Quraish Shihab's ideas about religious moderation and how it is applied in the practice of religious education in Indonesia today. This research was conducted to understand more deeply the contribution of Quraish Shihab's thoughts to efforts to build Islamic education that is tolerant, inclusive, and in line with national values. The results of the study show several important conclusions: First, Quraish Shihab emphasizes the importance of understanding religion proportionally, avoiding extremism, and building mutual respect between religious communities. Second, his thoughts provide a strong philosophical foundation for the preparation of religious moderation education curriculum in various Islamic educational institutions. Third, the relevance of Shihab's ideas is vital in responding to the challenges of the globalization era, especially in forming a generation of Muslims who are knowledgeable, noble, and able to live harmoniously in a pluralistic society.
