Abstract

ABSTRACT This research focuses on the design and implementation of an automatic biscuit sorting system based on ESP32 with Telegram notification. The system is designed to automatically measure and sort biscuits based on weight using a load cell sensor integrated with the HX711 module, a belt conveyor as the product transfer medium, and a servo motor as the sorting mechanism. The weight data is processed by the ESP32 to determine the Accept or Reject category according to predefined weight thresholds, and the results are transmitted in real time via the Telegram application as an Internet of Things (IoT)–based monitoring system. System testing was conducted on roma kelapa biscuits with weight variations of 1500 grams, 1200 grams, and 900 grams. The test results show that the system is able to perform the sorting process accurately and consistently, with an average accuracy of 93.57% for 1500 grams, 97.95% for 1200 grams, and 94.52% for 900 grams. Although mechanical vibrations from the conveyor cause the weight readings to be slightly higher than the actual values, the system is still capable of correctly classifying the products based on the defined criteria. Therefore, the proposed automatic biscuit sorting system is considered suitable as an automation and weight-based monitoring solution for small- to mediumscale food industries.
