Abstract

This study aims to investigate the relationship between loneliness and self- esteem with Celebrity Worship Syndrome (CWS) behavior among K-Pop fans in the NCTzens community in Bekasi. The background of the research is rooted in the growing popularity of Korean pop culture in Indonesia, where NCTzens exhibit high emotional involvement that may lead to CWS, influenced by psychological factors such as loneliness and low self-esteem. The research employs a correlational quantitative design with a non- parametric approach due to non-normal data distribution. The population consists of 636 active NCTzens members in Bekasi, with a sample of 218 respondents selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using psychological scales: the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (29 items, α=0.871) for self-esteem, the UCLA Loneliness Scale (27 items, α=0.76) for loneliness, and the Celebrity Worship Scale (19 items, α=0.713) for CWS.
