Abstract

Muhammad Raaihan Givari, 41182191190161, This thesis is entitled: "Efforts to Improve Learning Outcomes of Lay Up Shoot in Basketball Games Through the Jigsaw Learning Model for Grade IX Students of SMP Negeri 11 Bekasi City." The purpose of this study is to improve learning outcomes of Lay Up Shoot in Basketball Games through the Jigsaw learning model for Grade IX students of SMP Negeri 11 Bekasi City in the 2025/2026 Academic Year. The method used in this study is the Classroom Action Research Method. This classroom action research has systematic steps consisting of action planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. This study aimed to improve students’ learning outcomes in basketball lay-up shoot skills through the Jigsaw cooperative learning model among ninth-grade students at SMP Negeri 11 Kota Bekasi. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design involving 48 students, conducted through a pre-cycle, Cycle I, and Cycle II. Each cycle consisted of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. Data were collected using cognitive tests, psychomotor performance assessments, and affective observation sheets. The results showed a gradual increase in the percentage of students’ learning mastery across cycles. The implementation of the Jigsaw model enhanced students’ conceptual understanding, lay-up shoot motor skills, as well as cooperation and active participation during learning activities. It can be concluded that the Jigsaw cooperative learning model is effective in improving basketball lay-up shoot learning outcomes for ninth-grade students at SMP Negeri 11 Kota Bekasi.
