Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of job stress on employee performance through job satisfaction as a mediating variable in the Emergency Room (ER) of the Jakarta Islamic Hospital (RSIS) in Pondok Kopi. The population in this study was all employees of the ER of the Jakarta Islamic Hospital (RSIS) in Pondok Kopi. The sampling technique used was non-probability sampling with saturated sampling. The sample size was 50 respondents. The research method used was descriptive quantitative. The data used were primary data collected through direct questionnaires distributed to respondents. The data were processed using SEM-PLS with the assistance of SmartPLS software version 4.1.1.6. The results showed that job stress had no significant effect on performance, with a path coefficient of 0.240 and a p-value of 0.177. Job satisfaction had a positive and significant effect on employee performance, with a path coefficient of 0.470 and a p-value of 0.004. Job stress had a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction, with a path coefficient of 0.640 and a p-value of 0.000.
