Abstract

This research explains the history of Sheikh Quro and the tomb complex of Sheikh Quro, the traditions and culture that exist in pulokalapa village. Explaining the journey of Sheikh Quro in spreading Islam in Java. Explains the discovery of the tomb until the formation of the tomb complex. Explain the efforts made and the way the community preserves the haul culture. Explains the factors that hinder the community in efforts to preserve the haul culture. explains the factors that encourage people to carry out the preservation of haul culture. By using descriptive methods qualitative approach. The data collection techniques used in this study were Participatory Observation, Interviews, Documentation. The main informants used were 6 people and the accompanying informants were 6 people. The results of the research obtained by Pulokalapa village still carry out the traditions or customs passed down by its ancestors, one of which is the haul culture. Haul culture in Pulokalapa village is carried out for 3 days, starting from Friday night to Sunday afternoon to be precise every Saturday kliwon at the end of the month of Sha'ban or Rewah. The purpose of implementing this earth ruwatan is as a form of respect for Sheikh Quro who has spread Islam in Java as well as a form of gratitude to Allah SWT who has given various favors. In an effort to preserve the people of Pulokalapa village, namely by providing an understanding of the meaning and values that exist in the haul culture to the younger generation and inviting the entire community to play an active role in commemorating the haul, from children to the elderly. Based on the results of the analysis, the author proposed a suggestion that to preserve a tradition, it really needs support from various parties, both from the local government and especially the Pulokalapa village community itself. As well as the use of technology and information as a tool to convey or introduce the traditions and culture that exist in Pulokalapa village. Keywords : Sheikh Quro, Haul Culture, Preservation
