Abstract

Siti Yuliyati, 41182911210008. “Quraisy Shihab's Perspective in the Book of Women on the Instilling of Moral Values for Women in Islamic Religious Education”. Departement of Islamic Religious Education Study Program, Faculty of Islamic Studies, Islamic University 45 Bekasi. This study aims to examine M. Quraish Shihab's views on women's moral values in Islamic education as outlined in his book Perempuan, analyze his perspective on old stereotypes regarding women's roles, and present the application of his thoughts in the context of women's education in the modern era. This study uses library research methods to collect and analyze data from various relevant written sources. The results show that M. Quraish Shihab views women in Islam as equal individuals in humanity, having the right to maintain their honor, chastity, and independence, and having the potential to develop fully through education. Shihab emphasizes that Islamic education plays a crucial role in addressing gender inequality, eliminating outdated stereotypes that limit women's roles, and empowering them to contribute significantly to society. His ideas offer a comprehensive approach to instilling moral values based on equality, honor, and independence, enabling women not only to become empowered individuals but also to become inspiring role models in families, communities, and global society. This study concludes that M. Quraish Shihab's views provide a strong theoretical and practical foundation for the development of inclusive and progressive Islamic education oriented towards women's empowerment for sustainable social progress.
