Abstract

The Indonesian romantic film Kukira Kau Rumah addresses the issue of bipolar disorder. By using the content analysis model of the Holsti approach, which divides the focus of analysis into three parts, this research aims to determine the content of the message of the film Kukira Kau Rumah. Using descriptive qualitative data collection methods, with each scene observed and documented which is then observed. The results of this research are that each scene of the film Kukira Kau Rumah includes several criteria for message characteristics, namely, Origin, Mode, Physical Character, Organization, and Novelty. And as a whole it covers all the characteristics of the message. In the encoding and decoding process carried out, it shows the message that is trying to be conveyed in dealing with people with bipolar disorder.
