Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to determine the role of school principals in improving professional indicators. The role of principals in improving professional indicators of teachers at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Ar Ridha, Tarumajaya, Bekasi and this research is intended to get a complete picture of the role and strategies of school principals in improving teacher professionalism. The research was conducted at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Ar Ridha, Tarumajaya, Bekasi. This research is descriptive qualitative research. Qualitative research is research that provides a comprehensive and clear picture of the social situation being studied. Research methodology is a process of principles and procedures used in approaching problems, studying and seeking answers to research topics. The method used was a field study (field research). In this field research, researchers individually talk to and directly observe people as sources of information through interactions over several days. The instrument used is observation (field visits) with face-to-face contact to see the conditions of the research location. The informants used as samples were school principals. The data collection technique is by using an interview technique which is equipped with a grid of interview guidelines, transcripts of interviews with informants. After the data is obtained, a Triangulation data matrix is created between the informants, then data reduction is carried out, and the data presentation ends with a conclusion. Field research carried out found that almost 80 percent of teachers were not yet certified, even though the school age aspect had not been fully understood by teachers for a long time, but school principals with strategies, their role through the effectiveness of supervision, increasing teacher pedagogical competence could be overcome with various activities and programs.
