Abstract
In the era of evolving technology, artificial intelligence has become an integral part of human life. Even now, various applications of artificial intelligence are used in industry and business. Although AI technology has many benefits, there are risks that need to be considered. One of them is information security. The purpose of this research is to find out the ChatGPT application can be used to write and distribute news through mass communication. This research was conducted using a descriptive qualitative method. Artificial intelligence technology can provide convenience in finding complete information and data. In the world of journalism, the presence of this kind of technology does attract attention, because in addition to making it easier, it also offers functions that force users to update. Although technology can make it easier to write and get more information, this tool has not updated the latest information because the information on this tool still uses last year's information and has not been fully updated. ChatGPT facilitates information and data sharing. In addition to the technology offering interesting features, the provider also uses artificial intelligence technology. While technology can make writing easier and more informative, the tool still does not update information. In addition, ChatGPT also reduces creativity in writing news, so posts that are too general and difficult for readers to understand will be easily copied compared to self-written posts.
