Abstract

Medan Satria District, Kali Baru Village, is one of the slum areas in Medan Satria District, Bekasi City. The factors or problems of slum settlements in Medan Satria District are problems with environmental facilities and insfrastructure such as residences whose housing conditions are unhealthy, including lighting, air and toilets and are temporary, which are not repaired properly, this is very vulnerable to fires and other problems. Lack of availability of environmental insfrastructure. This research aims to determine the level of slums and handling strategies. To determine the level of slums, a weighting analysis was used, namely the draft technical guidelines for improving the quality of slum housing and slum settlements and the Ministry of Public Works. Meanwhile, to determine the handling strategy, SWOT analysis is used. So the results of this research show that the level of slums is in the medium slum category, and the handling strategy is to carry out rejuvenation. The structuring program consists of physical and non-physical programs.
