Abstract
Technological developments have led to the emergence of tools to carry out the drying process. The drying method not only reduces the moisture content but also controls the drying process to get better quality and less harmful drying materials. Tray dryer model is an alternative drying system used in this study and require testing to be optimal for the waste drying process To determine the performance of the dryer, an experiment was carried out on the waste drying process. The method used is experimental, namely testing the tray dryer 3 times. The parameters observed in this study include the temperature and duration of the drying process. The purpose of this drying process is to determine the decrease in water content, heat transfer rate and efficiency of the dryer. Based on the results of the calculation of the data obtained from 3 experiments, it was found that the most reduction in the wastewater content of sludge obtained by drying for 300 minutes reached 55.1% with an initial moisture content of 70%. The highest total heat transfer rate is 178.72 W. The highest drying efficiency value is 53.61%. Keywords: Tray Dryer, Moisture Content, Heat Transfer Rate, and Efficiency of the dryer..
