Abstract

Political communication strategies play an important role in increasing youth interest in politics. The lack of youth interest in politics is a challenge that needs to be overcome. Therefore, this research aims to determine the communication strategy of the AMPG South Cikarang in increasing youth participation in politics by using political communication strategy theory which consists of figures and institutions, creating togetherness, and building consensus. This research method is qualitative with data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation. The research results show that in caring for figures, AMPG South Cikarang ensures that leaders have high credibility and become inspiring examples for young people. For institutions, AMPG South Cikarang strengthens the structure by forming divisions with a focus on various aspects of politics and youth welfare, although there is overlapping responsibilities. In creating togetherness, AMPG South Cikarang composes persuasive messages that maintain openness and transparency, and uses communication methods such as futsal and socialization to strengthen social relations, but the use of social media is still less than optimal. Lastly, in building consensus, AMPG South Cikarang applies the art of compromise through open discussions and activities such as kopdar, although the low frequency of these activities can reduce their effectiveness.
