Abstract

The senior high school period is a transition phase to adulthood, where one of the developmental tasks is that students begin to take responsibility for choosing and determining their career choices. However, in reality, the unemployment rate, especially at the high school level, is still quite high. This study aims to determine the effect of internal locus of control with peer attachment on career maturity. The subjects of this study were 240 grade XII students at PGRI 1 Bekasi High School. This study used interviews and a career maturity scale with reliability of 0,868, an internal locus of control scale compiled by researchers based on Rotter (1966) theory with reliability of 0,863, and a peer attachment scale with reliability of 0,888. Data were analyzed with Spearman Rank correlation and multiple regression. This study found that there is a positive relationship between internal locus of control and career maturity (r = 0,342, p = 0,000); there is a positive relationship between peer attachment and career maturity (r = 0,137, p = 0,034); internal locus of control and peer attachment simultaneously affect career maturity (F=18,089, p<0.000).
