Abstract
This research aims to determine the effect of profitability, asset structure, company size, and taxes on capital structure. The research method used in this research is quantitative. The data used is secondary data. The population in this study are automotive sub-sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2019-2022 period. The sample used was 10 companies with a sampling technique method in this research using a purposive sampling technique, namely taking samples based on certain criteria from the required population. The data search technique was carried out by collecting and analyzing financial report data and company annual reports obtained by access the official website of the Indonesian Stock Exchange which has been collected and then processed using the SPSS 26.0 computer program. Based on the results of statistical tests, the profitability variable has a positive effect on capital structure, while the asset structure variable, company size variable and tax variable have no effect on capital structure. Further research is recommended to increase the research sample with different types of industry and add independent variables in further research.
