Abstract

This study is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students, this can be seen from students who have not been able to identify the properties of counting operations of small numbers, students are lacking in determining the form of addition and its results appropriately, students are lacking in calculating multiplication by adding and composing long, students have not been able to solve multiplication from story problems and student learning outcomes in Mathematics are still very low, which is out of 16 students who are able to complete Mathematics learning only 5 students, while the other 11 students are not complete. The purpose of this study is to improve the learning outcomes of third grade students at SD Bani Saleh 1 Bekasi through the Index Card Match learning method. The research method used is CAR (Classroom Action Research) which consists of two cycles, each cycle consists of two meetings and four stages, such as planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were third grade students of SD Bani Saleh 1 Bekasi with 16 students, consisting of 10 female students and 6 male students. Data collection was carried out through observations and written tests in the form of essays with a total of 10 questions. Data analysis was carried out with an indicator of success in this study if 80% of the total number of students reached the predetermined KKM score of 80. Based on the results of research from each cycle, it obtained an increase in the classical percentage in cycle I by 63% with an average score of 73, in cycle II by 94% with an average score of 92. The increase in student learning outcomes using the Index Card Match method from cycle I to cycle II in Mathematics subjects was 31%. Thus, it can be concluded that the Index Card Match method can improve learning outcomes in Mathematics subjects for third grade students of SD Bani Saleh 1 Bekasi.
