Abstract
Television is one of the Communication Information Technologies that is present in order to meet the public's need for information in more attractive packaging because it has been supported by audio-visual technology. In the government's decision to adopt digital broadcasting technology to replace analog television technology towards digital television, the aim of this research is to determine the impact of society on the migration of analog television to digital television. The research method used in this study is a quantitative approach with descriptive analysis. This type of research uses data collection techniques through questionnaires and interviews. The theory used in this study is the theory of impact, development of technology and communication, television and innovation diffusion. The results of this study indicate that the migration of analog television to digital television has a positive and significant impact on society (Ha accepted). It can be seen from the simple linear regression coefficient of the socialization mechanism (β) of (0.262) and the impact that occurs in the community is only 16.1%, which means that most people in Cileungsi District have had an impact on analog television migration to digital television but not too big an impact on analog television migration. to digital television, but they only feel disadvantaged because they have to spend money to buy a Set Top Box (STB) or smart TV to enjoy this digital television.
