Abstract

Production planning is a crucial factor in enhancing resource utilization efficiency and maximizing profits. PT Jaya Abadi Spunbond Bag faces challenges in determining optimal production quantities due to resource constraints—such as raw materials, machine capacity, and labor hours—as well as fluctuating market demand. This study aims to determine the optimal production volume to maximize the company's profit using the linear programming method. It employs an applied quantitative approach, utilizing numerical data analysis covering production figures, raw material costs, labor hours, machine capacity, factory overhead, and other expenses. Calculations using the linear programming simplex method—facilitated by the QM for Windows software—indicate an optimal annual profit of Rp 647,950,500, achieved by producing 240,000 semi-box bags and 213,334 oval bags per year. By applying the linear programming simplex method, PT Jaya Abadi Spunbond Bag realizes an increase of Rp 370,171,500, or 57%, resulting from the optimization.
