Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the implementation of the peer tutor method in Arabic language learning in grade VII at MTs Nurul Falah, East Jakarta, as well as to identify the obstacles and solutions in its application. The type of research used in this study is field research with a qualitative research approach. The subjects in this study were Arabic teachers and representatives of seventh grade students. Data were collected using observation, interviews, and documentation methods. The data were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the peer tutoring method in Arabic language learning was carried out in several stages, namely the preparation stage, the implementation stage, and the closing stage. In its implementation, teachers face several obstacles, including the ineffectiveness of peer tutors, differences in student abilities, gender differences, and a lack of cooperation among group members. The solutions implemented by teachers to overcome these obstacles include providing training to tutors, forming heterogeneous groups, and motivating students. In conclusion, the implementation of the peer tutor method in Arabic language learning for seventh grade students at MTs Nurul Falah in East Jakarta has proven to be successful and has had a positive impact on the learning process, particularly in improving students' understanding of Arabic language material.
