Abstract

This study analyzes the impact of fatherlessness on children's independent character in learning Islam. The context of fatherlessness refers to the absence of a father figure in parenting. Fathers' absence in parenting can be due to various factors, including death, the father working outside the region, marital problems (divorce), and the father's health issues. The research technique used a literature review approach. A literature review is a description of literature related to a specific topic found in scholarly articles or books. According to Islamic teachings, fathers are encouraged to participate in parenting, as exemplified in the Quran through the stories of the Prophets Luqman, Jacob, Noah, and Abraham. Fathers are not only leaders but also educators, nurturing children emotionally, cognitively, morally, and spiritually. The absence of a father in parenting impacts a child's character. In examining the above issue, the author used a literature review method, a method that utilizes reading (literacy). The results show that the absence of a father's role, both physically and psychologically, significantly impacts and plays a crucial role in child development
