Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan proses sains siswa yang ditandai dengan siswa kurang aktif bertanya, kurang terampil dalam penggunaan alat dan bahan saat melakukan percobaan sederhana, kurang terampil dalam menulis hasil pengamatan dari percobaan sederhana yang sudah dilakukan, kurang mampu menyimpulkan hasil pengamatan, kurang teliti di saat mengamati percobaan sederhana, dan kurang mampu mengkomunikasikan hasil percobaan sederhana. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa pada pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial (IPAS) melalui penerapan model Guided Discovery Learning. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, masing-masing terdiri atas tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas 4B di salah satu sekolah dasar dengan jumlah 29 siswa. Instrumen penelitian meliputi tes tertulis dan lembar observasi guru. Penelitian ini dapat dikatakan berhasil apabila 83% dari jumlah siswa mencapai nilai >75. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan keterampilan proses sains siswa dari siklus I ke siklus II. Pada siklus I diperoleh persentase ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 45% dengan nilai rata – rata 71 sedangkan pada siklus II diperoleh persentase ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 83% dengan nilai rata – rata 79. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model Guided Discovery Learning dapat meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains dengan indikator mengamati, mengajukan pertanyaan, membuat hipotesis, melakukan percobaan, menyimpulkan hasil, dan mengkomunikasikan hasil. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model Guided Discovery Learning dapat meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa pada mata pelajaran IPAS di sekolah dasar. This research is motivated by the low science process skills of students which are characterized by students who are less active in asking questions, less skilled in using tools and materials when conducting simple experiments, less skilled in writing the results of observations from simple experiments that have been carried out, less able to conclude the results of observations, less careful when observing simple experiments, and less able to communicate the results of simple experiments. This research aims to improve students' science process skills in Natural Sciences and Social Sciences (IPAS) learning through the application of the Guided Discovery Learning model. The type of research used was Classroom Action Research (CAR), implemented in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects were 29 students in grade 4B at an elementary school. The research instruments included a written test and teacher observation sheets. This research was considered successful if 83% of the students achieved a score of >75. The results of this study indicate an increase in students' science process skills from cycle I to cycle II. In cycle I, the percentage of classical completeness was 45% with an average value of 71, while in cycle II, the percentage of classical completeness was 83% with an average value of 79.This shows that the application of the Guided Discovery Learning model can improve science process skills with indicators of observing, asking, making hypotheses, conducting experiments, concluding results, and communicating results. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the Guided Discovery Learning model can improve students' science process skills in science subjects in elementary school.
