Abstract

ABSTRACT The Implementation of The Role of Coaching-Based Supervision in Enhancing the Quality Standards of Qur’anic Learning Using the Ummi Method at TKIT Al Manar Name: Jaenal Mutaqin Position: Graduate Student, MPAI Email: jaenalmutaqin313@gmail.com This study aims to examine the role of coaching-based supervision in improving the quality standards of Qur’anic learning using the Ummi method at TKIT Al Manar, Cikarang. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, utilizing in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis. The research subjects included the principal, the Ummi program coordinator, Qur’anic teachers, and trainers from the UMMI Foundation in Bekasi Raya. Findings indicate that coaching-based supervision plays a strategic role in enhancing teachers’ pedagogical competencies. This includes mastery of the Ummi method, the use of varied instructional media and teaching strategies, classroom management, reflective practice, and spiritual preparedness. The supervision process is carried out through a dialogical and empathetic coaching model, supported by ongoing training programs and strong collaboration among school leaders, internal coordinators, and external trainers. Despite challenges such as time constraints, initial misconceptions about supervision, and variations in teacher competence, the implementation of flexible scheduling, humanistic approaches, and structured training has proven effective. Coaching-based supervision fosters a culture of continuous professional development and promotes holistic improvement in Qur’anic learning encompassing not only technical proficiency but also spiritual character formation.
