Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya variasi metode pembelajaran yang digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia kelas IV di Sekolah Dasar. Salah satu metode yang belum pernah diterapkan adalah metode Outdoor Learning, yang diyakini dapat mendorong siswa untuk lebih banyak menuangkan kata dan kalimat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji perbandingan antara metode Outdoor Learning dan metode Discovery Learning terhadap keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi siswa kelas IV SDN Lubang Buaya 02. Metode penelitian yang digunakan ini adalah eksperimen dengan desain penelitian yaitu quasi eksperimental. Penelitian ini menggunakan kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol dimana kelas eksperimen diperlakukan menggunakan metode Outdoor Learning sedangkan kelas kontrol menggunakan metode Discovery Learning. Teknik analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Uji Normalitas, Uji Homogenitas, dan Uji Hipotesis, dengan menggunakan bantuan aplikasi pengolah data yaitu IBM Statistic SPSS version 31. Hasil penelitian ini adalah : 1) Keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi siswa kelas IV A Lubang Buaya 02 yang menggunakan metode Outdoor Learning di kelas eksperimen memiliki rata-rata 87,10. Sebelum pembelajaran dimulai, rata-rata hasil 76,90. 2) Keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi siswa kelas IV B Lubang Buaya 02 yang menggunakan metode Discovery Learning di kelas kontrol memiliki rata-rata 77,67. Sebelum pembelajaran dimulai, rata-rata hasil 72,10. 3) Terdapat perbandingan antara metode Outdoor Learning dan metode Discovery Learning terhadap keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi siswa kelas IV SDN Lubang Buaya 02 dengan nilai sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,001 < lebih kecil dari (<0,05). This research is motivated by the lack of variety of learning methods used in the learning process of Indonesian language class IV in elementary school. One method that has never been applied is the Outdoor Learning method, which is believed to encourage students to pour more words and sentences. This study aims to examine the comparison between the Outdoor Learning method and the Discovery Learning method on the writing skills of fourth grade students of SDN Lubang Buaya 02. The research method used is an experiment with a research design which is quasi-experimental. This study used an experimental class and a control class where the experimental class was treated using the Outdoor Learning method while the control class used the Discovery Learning method. The analysis techniques used in this study are Normality Test, Homogeneity Test, and Hypothesis Test, using the help of data processing applications, namely IBM Statistic SPSS version 31. The results of this study are: 1) The description essay writing skills of class IV A Lubang Buaya 02 students who used the Outdoor Learning method in the experimental class had an average of 87.10. Before the learning began, the average result was 76.90. 2) The description essay writing skills of students in class IV B Lubang Buaya 02 who used the Discovery Learning method in the control class had an average of 77.67. Before the learning began, the average result was 72.10. 3) There is a comparison between the Outdoor Learning method and the Discovery Learning method on the description essay writing skills of grade IV students of SDN Lubang Buaya 02 with a sig. (2-tailed) of 0.001 < smaller than (<0.05).
